Free Pocket Currency Converter
How much does that souvenir cost in dollars?
How expensive is the food at the quaint sidewalk cafe? Now you don't
have to do the math in your head when you travel overseas. We've
designed a free, pocket currency converter that you can print out and take
with you. It easily fits in a pocket or wallet. Note: you must
have Microsoft Excel 97 or later in order to download and use this free
pocket currency
converter.
There are links to two free pocket currency converters
below. They both look and work the same way. The difference is
that pocket currency converter #1 is designed for use with foreign currencies that
are close to, or above, the valuation of the dollar, and pocket currency converter
#2 is for foreign currencies that are undervalued -- i.e., worth
considerably less than the dollar. In addition, we have included a
handy tip chart for foreign currencies. Since tip amounts in foreign
countries are often lower than in the U.S., we've started the tip chart with
5%.
To use either free pocket currency converter --
-
Visit a website that has the latest
exchange rate. We recommend www.xe.com
as it is easy to use, and it's free. There are two different
conversion percentages shown. You will want to use the percentages
shown in the row " 1 USD =". To find currencies for countries that
are not shown in the chart, scroll down the page to the currency
converter. Enter "1" in the first box, choose "USD United States
Dollars" from the drop-down menu for the second box, choose the foreign
currency for the third box, and click on the "Convert" button.
Note: if the country you are visiting is not shown in the
drop-down menu, scroll down and choose "(More currencies available)."
-
Write down or make a note of the
exchange rate with the U.S. dollar.
-
Click on one of the links below to
download a free currency converter.

You can either "Open" the currency

later). Both options are free.

shaded cell next to "Foreign Exchange Rate"
-
Depress the Enter key on your computer's
keyboard

the exchange rate for a variety of different foreign currency amounts.

out the box, and place the converter in your wallet or purse.
