Guide to Northwestern Ireland - Bundoran & Donegal

Bordered on the west by the Atlantic Ocean, the Donegal Bay has dramatic views of the seacoast.  Bundoran is a small but popular tourist seaside town on the south side of the bay.  Donegal is just north of Bundoran and has a nice, compact downtown area.  This section of Ireland has sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Travel tips for Northwestern Ireland

  1. The Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran is a great place to stop.  If you aren't staying there, plan on eating lunch or dinner in their dining room.  Please see our review.

  2. Donegal has a number of good restaurants.  We dined at the Harbour Restaurant on Quay Street, and had an excellent lunch.
